Insert Tray Generator Mailing Box Mockup Set

The opening in an insert tray is part of the packaging design, not just empty space. This mailing box mockup set lets you present custom-shaped cutouts alongside the printed tray, inner lid and outer box. Show a mug-shaped opening, a narrow space for a cosmetic container or another silhouette, then compare the result from above and at an angle.

Standalone tray views make the insert easy to explain before showing it inside the box. Closed-box views and four extra open-box views without a tray help you carry the same branding through the complete presentation.

Shape the Insert, Then Compare the Finish

Change the tray artwork, color and cutout shape together with the outside and inside of the box. Kraft texture options for the exterior and interior let you compare a kraft shell with a printed lining or a coordinated finish throughout. The box shown measures 20.7 × 15.6 × 9.1 cm. Use the top views to judge artwork around the opening and the angled views to show the tray as a folded component.

Easy Smart Object Editing

Open the PSD files in Adobe Photoshop CC2015 or newer, or Photopea. Use the organized layers and Smart Objects to add your artwork, then adjust the supported colors and insert cutout. Background color and texture can be changed, while separate object and drop-shadow layers allow transparent-background exports. Follow the included PDF manual and sample-use video for the tray workflow.

Let the Cutout Guide the Graphic Layout

A shaped opening interrupts the tray surface. Leave clear space between its edge and small text, and check whether the most important message remains visible when the product and tray are viewed together. For a mug, include the handle in your visual planning; for a cosmetic container, consider the silhouette of the cap or pump as well as the body. These are useful layout checks before discussing the structure with a packaging supplier.

Coordinate the Sample Objects

  • Mug: change the design and colors, including the handle, rim and interior.

  • Cosmetic container: adjust the label design and component colors, including the liquid.

  • Jar candle: change the label design and supported colors, remove the label or adjust the lid color. The wax is not editable.

Keep the tray artwork restrained when the product label carries detailed information. A quiet insert can make the label easier to read, while a patterned inner lid adds a second moment of branding when the box is opened.

Plan a Clear Client Presentation

Start with the closed exterior, follow with the open box and finish with the separate tray. This sequence explains both the first impression and the insert concept without requiring the client to interpret a flat layout alone. Keep the same colors across these images when comparing cutout shapes, then keep the cutout constant when comparing kraft and printed finishes.

Before Manufacturing

A visual cutout does not confirm physical fit or shipping protection. Check product dimensions, tray depth, material thickness and cutting tolerances with the manufacturer, and use their production dieline and a physical sample for final approval. This set is a presentation mockup, not a structural packaging specification.

Can I create a different insert opening? Yes. The tray supports a custom-shaped cutout, so the examples are starting points for the visual layout rather than the only shapes you can show.

Can I export the box with a transparent background? Yes. Objects and drop shadows are on separate layers, and the background can be hidden for a transparent export.

Are the JPGs and MP4 additional editable scenes? No. The editable mockups are the 15 PSD files. JPGs provide previews, the PDF is the user manual and the MP4 demonstrates sample use.
